She married Dan, a United States Air Force Sergeant stationed at Clark AFB, in Angeles City on July 16th, 1967. They moved to the United States permanently in 1977. Over the next 42 years, Nita raised their 4 children while working various jobs in Food Service and Housekeeping, eventually retiring from State Employment at Griffin Memorial Hospital. Having grown up in a small village, her formal education stopped at an early age but she eventually obtained her G.E.D. and became an American Citizen, having studied for and passed the United States Citizenship test. In her later years, Nita spent most of her time doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. She had a beautiful soul and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
