There are moments in time when I can reflect on an event - a memory - and hear Novella’s laughter...usually at me. We had conversations where I received her guidance/advice and even though the message she provided was sometimes difficult to hear - she always delivered it with a comparison of her own life. Novella did not beat around the bush with me. She said what she needed to say and then she was done.
We recently reconnected after many years and it was as if the time melted away. She did not hesitate to pick on me. “Where you been? My number hasn’t changed. Well?” She was also quick to tell me “love you” before she hung up.
I am thankful we were able to reconnect - and I will cherish hearing her laughter in the wind. Much love.

Mom I will always remember you including me as part of the family for the past 31 yrs. You and dad were awesome grandparents to Steele and Mccain. I will always have happy memories of you two. Heaven has you now and that’s the best place to be. RIP MOM LEWIS
