Othela Lowell was born February 3rd, 1929 in Shamrock, TX to Aaron and Alice Parson; she was the sixth of ten children. Born during the depression her humble beginnings made her a stronger person, she told the story of working the cotton fields at the age of 5, her job was to pick 50 pounds of cotton a day, unheard of in this time, but like she said back then we did what we had to. Othela knew the importance of hard work and didn’t believe there was any excuse not to make it in this world, and she taught us all to work hard and do our best in all things. She was baptized at the age of 18 and relied on God throughout her life and it was very important to her we all knew God. Her family was her life and she loved them all unconditional, making sure all of her family was taken care of, never wanting or struggling, and this was her truth until the end. During the night of her passing Proverbs 31, 10-31 was read aloud, and Cecil stated, “that was written about her”, She passed away at home on November 28th, 2018, preceded in death by her parents, daughter Alice Waldrip, husband Charles Fisher, great granddaughter Bri Hill, brothers Herman, Cleve and Jimmie and sisters Irene, Edyth, Dolly, Virginia and Lavell.
