Patricia Ann Hunt, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Amarillo, TX on June 30, 2020. Patricia was born February 15, 1936 in Wichita, KS, to Walter and Lena Thompson. Her family shortly thereafter moved to Oklahoma, where she spent most of her childhood and adult life. She graduated from Midwest City High School in 1954. At age 17, she started working at Bill Hunt Motor Line, where she met and married the boss’s son, William Leslie (Les) Hunt, on June 4, 1954. Patricia and Les were married for 51 years and raised their three sons in Del City, Oklahoma.

Pat loved to bowl and play bunco and dominos with her friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing pool and taught her grandchildren those same skills. She enjoyed spending time with each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who fondly called her Mom and Grandma Pat.

Pat taught her children the importance of hard work, demonstrating its significance through example her entire life. She worked full-time for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, retiring in 2001. In addition, she worked for several different transportation companies early in her career. Her employers and coworkers respected and praised her for her dedication and work performance. She volunteered, served, and provided leadership for many years in the Eastern Star and White Shrine organizations. She was loved by many of those who served and worked with her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Les Hunt; her brothers, Donald, Robert, and Michael Thompson; and her son, Howard Hunt. She is survived by her sister, Genevieve Becker of Oklahoma City, OK; two of her three sons and their spouses, Darryle and Jeanne Hunt of Amarillo, TX; Stan and Lisa Hunt of Brentwood, TN; and her daughter-in-law, Gail Hunt of Nolensville, TN. In addition, she is survived by 7 grandchildren (Lauren Euhus, Lindsay Tuttle, Tiffany Evans, Jonathan Hunt, Whitney Jenkins, Travis Hunt, and Melissa Hunt) and 20 great-grandchildren (Trent, Kaylyn, Holly, Sydney, Wyatt, and Noah Euhus; Brooklyn, London, Scarlett, Harrison, and Jackson Tuttle; Peyton, Eli, Deacon, and Landry Evans; Tate, Brooks, and Maggie Hunt; Liam Jenkins; and Naomi Thompson).
