Paula Patrice Whitaker

She passed on August 24th, 2020 at the age of 67 in what she considered her hometown of Midwest City, Oklahoma. In the early years of her life, Paula was a homemaker and Florist by trade. In the early 2000s, she moved to Alabama to be closer to her oldest son and her two grandchildren whom she adored. Several years later she returned to Oklahoma and lived the rest of her years in Midwest City. She is survived by her two sons, David Martin, an Army Veteran who served in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm who now resides in Dothan, Alabama with his wife Julie and Paula's two grandchildren Justin & Madeline Martin. Her youngest son, Patrick Spencer is a long-time Oklahoma City Television Journalist and Realtor who resides in Oklahoma City with Husband, Jose. Paula is also survived by her sister, Devonna Kay Gilpatrick of Del City, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and her beloved dog Natasha. Paula was preceded in death by her Father Gane Gilpatrick, Mother, Jimalee Cagle Hill, and Brother, Larry Gilpatrick. Private graveside services will be held at the Blanchard Cemetery at 2 pm on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 with a private reception to follow. Due to COVID-19, the family has requested that only family members, close friends, and invitees attend.
