

(age 65) went to meet her maker on May 26, 2011. She was born Sept15, 1945 in Frederick, OK., to parents P.J. and Edith Zumwalt. She graduated from Frederick High in 1963 and attended OU for 2 years. She began her career and a long association with the Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) on June 2, 1966. She retired with 30 years of Federal Service and 20 years of National Guard Services. She served with many units such as a Band and Public Information, Aviation, Medical Co. and a Medical Battalion and because qualified and/or certified in each one. She was mobilized a s part of the active Army in support of Desert Shield and ran the personnel section for the battalion. She was the second female to enlist in the OKARNG and the first to retire. She helped set a new standard for women in Oklahoma. Being single, she adopted the military as her extended family and loved to travel both professionally and personally with this family. She is survived by two brothers, Jay and wife Deanna, Roy and wife Lynn. Nieces and nephews include Palmer, Mitzy, Lewis, Tammy, Roy, and Dennis and many cousins. Formal Visitation will be May 31, 2011 at 6:30-8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK. 73115. Funeral services will be at the same location at 10:00 AM, June 1, 2011 with full Military Honors. Peggy will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery on June 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
