

Perry Bennett, 66, was called by his Lord suddenly this week. He leaves behind his soulmate of 45 years, Donna Bennett, three sons; Perry and wife Melissa, Brad and Travis, four grandchildren; Emily, Zack, Kolby and Kaylee and one great grandson due in 2022, a brother, Phil and wife Darla, sister Cindy and her son Jonathan, Mother in law Carole, sister in law Joyce, nieces, nephews plus various members of a step-family he gained in adulthood. Also, his beloved cousins of Ardmore with whom he also shared many summer adventures and misadventures with.
Perry worked hard at an early age. He played baseball as a teen and coached his son’s team later on. He was a Boy Scout and enjoyed backpacking in Wyoming and other states while working towards badges, and earned the title of Eagle Scout, a source of pride for him.
As a teen, Perry’s father had him helping him on some jobsites. He loved building things. Perry worked hard as a commercial carpenter and then superintendent all his adult life following in his father’s footsteps. On any drive around the city, he was proud to point out all the buildings he helped create. Tulsa, Arkansas and Texas also included some of his handy work. The tradition continues with Perry III.
He volunteered his skills to Christmas in July and Rebuilding Together for several years and served on the board of trustees at church. He helped build the Heartland Chapel after the Murrah Bombing. Perry loved the outdoors! He enjoyed fishing, camping (In his younger years), hiking and traveling. He used his short retirement years building things at home and for relatives and friends. He was happy creating sheds, fire pits, flower boxes and ramps. He was artistic at drawing too. He designed birthday posters and created artwork on a shelter, swings and rocks.
He was a prankster and loved to laugh. He loves his God, his family and friends and is missed so much by them all.
