Rachel Linda Bouret

She was born on October 30, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, though she always claimed Halloween as her birthday because it was one of her favorite days of the year. Rachel graduated from Western Heights High School, and soon afterward welcomed her two beloved sons, Brian and Brandon. Rachel worked at the Oklahoma County Courthouse for 32 years. First, in the County Court Clerk's Office. Then, the County Clerk's Office. She made many friends and many called her "mom" because of her ability to care for and listen to them regardless of what they needed her for.

In 2008, her world changed forever with the arrival of her grandson, Anakin. He brought immeasurable joy to her life and could always make her smile. Together they shared a special place in her backyard called the "Swing of Truth," where Anakin knew he could tell his grandmother anything, trusting that their conversations would remain between them.

Rachel found joy in gardening and loved bringing fresh flowers from her garden to work. She was also a collector of stamps and coins and enjoyed scouring around to find coins. She also had a deep love for animals. Her faithful dog, Rags, and her cherished cats Rainbo, Opie, Kashmir, Maya, and Oscar, held a special place in her heart. Her family finds comfort in imagining her reunited with them all at the Rainbow Bridge, welcomed with happy paws and loving licks.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Patricio DeLua and Trina DeLua; her brother, Pat DeLua; and her first husband, Charles Ed Newsom.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Gordon Bouret; her sons, Charles Brian Newsom and Brandon Newsom (Amanda); her beloved grandson, Anakin Newsom; her sisters, Anna Bouret (Gary) and Andrea DeLua; her nephew, Lucian DeLua; the guinea pig, T-Bone; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A memorial service celebrating Rachel's life will be held at 2pm Sunday, August 9, 2026 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3901 S. Sunnylane Road, Del City, Oklahoma.

Rachel's kindness, humor, generosity, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
