Richard heard his countries call and joined the United States Air Force after high school. It was during this time that he climbed the ranks to Chief Master Sergeant and was awarded several accommodations before retiring. Richard continued to serve, even after his retirement from the Air Force, working for the Department of Defense before retiring from there as well. Overall, Richard devoted over 50 years of his life serving his country. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed studying and teaching the word of God so much that he became an Ordained Minister. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kae Soon (Kim) Ferris; children, Ti and wife Jeanna of Indio, California, Richard and wife Vicky of Reno, Nevada, Jeff and wife Rea of Reno, Nevada, Kevin of Moore, Oklahoma, Kae Lee and husband Charles of Oklahoma City, Ricky and wife Brenda of Jacksonville, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Ruth Marie and Mark. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother Frank.
A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 Se 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 16, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
