Richard Lee Owens Was born on May 4, 1953 in Wichita Kansas to parents Robert and Louise Owens. He was the middle child of three; his older sister Sue Reed and younger sister Linda Myers (Ken). He graduated from Carl Albert High School where he met Donna Brawdy who would become his wife of 48 years. After graduating high school, he Join the air force becoming a photo technician. Five years after the marriage reception they would have their first of two children a Son, Jason (Emily) and Daughter, Jennifer (Matt).
He used his passion for photography as a way to document his children's lives. At times he would even go so far as to develop his own film in an improvised dark room. His passion for not only photography, but also his family showed through his pictures. Some of his photos were even published in magazines.
He was an OU Sooners fan through and through. He would watch every game, whether it was on Television or going out to watch the game first hand at Owen Field with Jason. When he couldn't watch the game with those he loved he would often pick up the phone to have conversations with Jason and Linda about the play by play of the game. He enjoyed most sports, but OU Football held a special place in his heart.
Richard enjoyed being a father as much as being a husband. He would later enjoy being a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren: Jaxson, Zoey and Dexter.
December 20, 2020 he passed away in his home in Midwest City, OK. He will always be remembered for his sarcastic and dry sense of humor and more importantly his generosity and kindred spirit. He will be greatly missed.
