Roland Kyle Bates

Roland Kyle Bates, age 37, passed from this life on May 15, 2021. He was born on December 10, 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Roland Keith Bates and Carolyn Marie Cotton. After graduating high school, he went into the restaurant business where he managed and eventually owned his own restaurant.

Kyle enjoyed videography and watching movies but his real passion was all things sports. From the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball to the University of Oklahoma Football but nothing could compare to the love that he had for his son Ryder.

He would often attend church with his mother, Carolyn at Westmoore Community Church as well as his father, Keith and stepmother, Diane at Life Church.

Kyle’s memories will continue to be cherished by his mother, Carolyn Cotton; father, Keith Bates and stepmother, Diane Kay Bates; sister, Melissa Bates; brothers, Roby Wonsch, Brent Wonsch, Justin Wonsch, Thomas Wonsch and Cory Phillips; aunt, Kim Hendricks; grandfather, J.D. Cotton; grandmother, Velma Cotton; cousins, Tierney Marie Hendricks, Dawson Hendricks, Reece Hendricks, Peyton Hendricks, Willow Hendricks and Shepard Hendricks along with many nieces and nephews.

Kyle was such a caring, selfless and kind person who would always do anything he could to help anyone that needed it. He was also an organ donor and with his life he was able to help in the lives of many others in need.
