Rosl "Mima" Kimmel

Rosl “Mima” Kimmel, age 90, of Seligenstadt, Germany, was born on July 29, 1936. She passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, after celebrating her birthday and making sure everyone got a double wave goodbye.

Mima was known for her steadfast and selfless love for her family. She loved to cook and bake and always made sure everyone had a plate long before she sat down to eat. Her home was always filled with the smell of homemade meals, beautifully decorated cakes, and fresh coffee, even if it was 7pm. She always opened her home and her heart to her family, and no one could ever ask for too much.

Mima also loved to sit outside and listen to the birds, and she had a soft spot for all animals. She could often be found sneaking them food, even when they had already had far too much. She will always be remembered for her smile and laughter, and for the way she made everyone around her smile and laugh too. Alongside all of her warmth and positivity, she was a force to be reckoned with. She would do anything and everything for her family, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loved.

Her love and spirit both continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved most, including her two children, Ellen Farris and Silvio Kimmel; her four grandchildren, Jeffery Breeding-Allison, Nicholas Breeding, Katrina Farris, and Brittany East; her great-grandchild, Eleanor Breeding; and her extended family members.

When it was time, she gently took the hands of the loved ones who came to guide her home, including her parents, Nikolaus and Katharina Wurzel; and her siblings, Ella Fischer, Edelburg Fischer, Katharine Fischer, and Franzel Georg Wurzel. Perhaps the one she was most eager to reunite with is her late husband, Edwin “Papa” Kimmel. Together, they moved to the United States in 1972 with their two children and a couple of suitcases, starting a courageous new chapter where she entirely devoted her life to her family and did not stop until her final breath.

In accordance with her wishes, a private family gathering will be held. Rather than focusing on our loss, we invite you to honor her by celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the countless ways she changed ours for the better.
