Rubye Pauline Strickland, 78, passed away on March 18, 2011. Rubye was born December 3, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to James Franklin and Dessie Dearl (Kennedy) Hill. Rubye was quite the seamstress making her grandchildren’s prom and wedding dresses. She also enjoyed ceramics, interior designing, and creating ribbon roses.
Rubye is preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom A. Strickland; siblings, Naomi Gibson, James Hill, and Elizabeth McCracken. Survivors include her children, Paula Curtis, Tim Strickland; step-daughter, Diana Hunt; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
