Samuel G. Shemwell

Samuel Grace Shemwell, 86, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away May 1, 2013. He was born September 15, 1926 in Bumpus Mills, Tennessee. Samuel worked for 27 years as a civilian employee on Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic, retiring in 1997. He was a faithful member of Barnes Church of Christ in Oklahoma City for over 43 years. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Ledonia Shemwell; his children James and Dawn Shemwell, Lynn Salyer, Jim and Babs Stearman, and Eddie and Paula Stearman; his grandchildren Robbie Beller, Jamie Beller, Victoria Shemwell, Angela Shemwell, Jeremie Beller, Mark Shemwell, Paul Shemwell, Luke Stearman, Will Stearman, Adam Stearman, Amanda Stearman, and Emily Stearman, who referred affectionately to him as “Papaw Shemmy”; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Catherine Shemwell, and his grandson Jason Beller. The family will receive friends and extended family Saturday and Sunday throughout the day at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
