She passed away in the Norman Health Plex on October 19th at the age of 84 after fighting many health battles, surrounded by her loved ones physically, mentally and spiritually.
She was born in Taiwan and was the oldest of 11 children. She was a singer in her early years, where she met her husband Donald Ray Shaver. They together traveled to the United States where she got her citizenship. They loved to travel in their motor home and loved to go to the casino as a pass time.
Seiko was the head cook (only cook) for Wainwright Elementary in Wainwright, OK for almost 20 years. She loved to feed everyone at the school and at home and she made the best stir fried chicken with rice and the best springs rolls ever.
She loved to work in the yard and always kept beautiful flowers around her house. She had such a green thumb that she could take a limb from a tree, shove it in the ground and grow a whole new tree.
She also had a great sewing talent and would make clothes for herself, her family and others.
Seiko was funny, sweet and loving but had a big ornery streak and you never wanted to make her mad, at 4 foot 9 inches she could be like a little stick of dynamite. She loved to scare people and loved to laugh. She started to become a TikTok celebrity with her antics and sometimes brutal honesty, at least to her family and friends.
Seiko was preceded in death by her husband Donald Ray Shaver, her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, her sons Donald Ray Shaver Jr., Jackie Shaver, and daughter Sheryl Jo Tyler.
She is survived by 3 sisters Heloko, Masako & Yaiko & 2 brothers Moley & Esheen, her daughters, Kimberly Shawn Stewart & husband Jim, Debra Dawn Wells & husband Phil & Judy Eileen Neuman and nephew Johnny Shan, wife Melissa & son Tucker. She is also survived by her numerous grandchildren whom she loved and adored and her great grandchildren that she cherished with her whole heart. She was also survived by numerous family members in Taiwan whom she spoke of constantly with great love.
Seiko will be greatly missed and forever loved, though our hearts ache we know she got to celebrate her wedding anniversary with her husband on Oct. 22nd, and we have faith that she is whole, strong and happy in the Lord’s presence.
