Sharon was born to Harold Devoe Sanders and Belva Jean Wicker in Bryan, TX on December 29, 1949. Sharon's parents divorced, and Sharon was raised by her grandparents Harley and Irene Howard in Dequincy, Louisiana. Sharon spent quality time with her Mom throughout the years and loved dearly her five siblings. As a child, Sharon accepted Christ as her Savior and attended church regularly. Sharon's career was focused on consumer lending. She spent 30 years with various companies, always in management roles. Sharon was a truly gifted leader. In 1992, Sharon rededicated her life to Christ, and began attending Cathedral of Praise World Outreach Center, where she grew and developed spiritually over the next 22 years. Sharon began as a volunteer in various ministries while still working in consumer lending. However, in 2003, Sharon left the corporate world, and went to work for the church. Over the next 8 years, she was responsible for facilitating and leading many ministry projects as the leader of operations and Pastor's assistant. In 2012, Sharon decided to pursue a slower pace, and began working part-time for First-Call, where she gained some amazing friends. Sharon fully retired in late 2018. In her retirement, she devoted herself to her family and friends , especially great-grands, who brought so much joy to her life.
Sharon will be remembered for her love for family, faith, leadership, strength and fashion. Sharon's niece, Shelby said it best, "The fabulous, fierce, fashionable Sharon Figueroa has left the building and we all can't wait until we meet again!"
