

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis L LeGrand Jr.; one grandchild, James Ames; one great-grandchild, AnaLynn Davis; her mother and father, Ann M. Wheeler and Gordon Nobles; and grandmother, May Baucom.
She is survived by her son, James Ames (Som); daughters, Sheila Conner, Cheryl McClure, and Deanna Davis (Tom); six grandchildren, Bobby Conner (Kari), Jeremy Conner (Amy), Clint French (Joanna), Robert Davis, Jonathan Ames, Heather McClure (Devin); and eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kasen, Ryder, Grady, Thomas, Malachi, Malani, and Deacon; step-children, Cathy Kershner (Sheldon), Sarah Kershner, Emily Kershner, Louis LeGrand III (Becky), Andy LeGrand, Annie LeGrand, Richard LeGrand (Christina), Banjo LeGrand, Teddy LeGrand; our angel, Susan Mercer.
To know her was to love her. She loved each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She loved to travel and was lucky enough to travel the world.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her kindness, dedication to work, and love for family. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, and taking photographs of her family, friends, and loved ones.
Shirley was a born-again Christian and was proud of the fact that she knew after her passing she would be going to Heaven.
A memorial service will be held at Bill Eisenhour at Sunny Lane Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
