

Shirley was born in Brooklyn, New York to Hyman and Rose Feldman and entered the US Navy shortly after her High School graduation. It was in the Navy that she met her only husband James D. Lindsay who preceded her in death, lost at sea. Following her Honorable Discharge from the Navy and the death of her husband, Shirley moved with her two children Gary and Doreen from her home in New York City to Oklahoma. She enjoyed her work as Secretary at St. John's Episcopal Church for many years until she took a similar job at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City until she retired.
Tragically, Shirley was preceded in death by her teenage daughter Doreen J. Lindsay, her brother Milton Feldman and Sister Anne Gottlieb.
She is survived by her son, Gary, daughter-in-law Susan Lindsay and loving grandchildren, Aaron Lindsay, Amanda Burress, Derrick Lindsay and son-in law Colby Burress. She is also survived by her beautiful great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Hallee, Brennan and Camyrn Burress, A'mya Lindsay and Luke Lindsay.
Her strong will and independent spirit will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Visitation, Friday, May 13 from 4:00-8:00pm. She will be laid to rest next to her daughter Doreen, Saturday, May 14 at 2:00pm. Services are being held at Sunny Lane Funeral Home & Cemetery in Del City, OK.
