Sue Carolyn Dennis

Sue had two siblings: Harold McCall (deceased) of McAlester, OK.; and Jerry Simmons of Moore, OK. She was married to Don C. Dennis for 63 years until his death in November 2013. Don and Sue had four children: Donita Skinner of Newalla, OK (deceased), Don R. Dennis (wife Cindy) of Edmond, OK, Dion Dennis (wife Robin) of Del City, OK, Dena Gentry of Okla. City, OK (deceased). Don and Sue had nine grandchildren: Brian Skinner, Christopher Skinner (deceased), Jennifer Sweet, Misty Clark, Jeremy Dennis, Trey Dennis, Bethany Wilson, Elise Neff and Ariel Gentry. Don and Sue had five great-grandchildren: Keegan Skinner, Austin Sweet, Ayden Sweet, Grace-Ann Dennis and Abigail Clark. Sue also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was a homemaker most of her life, but assisted Don with his Real Estate Appraisal business once her children were raised and had left the home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is known by her family for two special attributes: 1) She was their Guardian Angel and 2) She was their Rock because of her rock solid faith and devotion to God. She was also known for her gentle and kind spirit, her devotion to family, and especially her true-tempered tiger-like perseverance when working towards goals she had established for herself or her family. Sue will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends. We just aren’t ready to turn her loose. But, we celebrate that she finally gets her “New Body”, gets to dance and sing, and gets to celebrate with the loved ones she has missed so much, that have gone on before her. We plan to scold them when we get there for pulling so hard on her right arm to help her cross over while we held such a firm grip on her left arm to try and keep her here with us.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Del City Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.
