

Sylvia Barnett (“Aunt C”) went into the arms of Jesus on August 27, 2024. She was born July 8,1928 to James Calloway and Lois Amelia Hartline and grew up on their farm near Valliant with six siblings: Anna Mae (Wheeler), Leona (Ellis), Hazel (Picket), James Hartline, Jean (Stauter), and Irene (Smith). Sylvia graduated from Valliant High and married Norman H. (Barney) Barnett of Wright City on January 12, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and son-in law Bobby Veatch. She is survived by her children, Mike and wife Debbie and their sons Andy and Adam, Susan Veatch and children Dana, Mark and Beth, Norman and wife Sherryl and sons Brandon and Colton, and Sandra Freeman and husband John. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Sylvia and Barney made their home in the Oklahoma City area.
She was a kind and gracious lady and loved by all who knew her. She was active in Howard Memorial Baptist Church and served in the nursery there for many years, and Heavenly Heights Baptist Church, She worked at Mothers’ Day Out for many years. She loved children, hummingbirds, and she loved the Lord intensely. She was the prayer warrior of the family!
Sylvia would not want flowers or donations, but she would be thrilled if you shared Jesus with someone in her honor.
A visitation for Sylvia will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 SE 179th St, Norman, OK 73071.
