

Thelma was an avid reader and could often be found reading the Bible, a novel, or working on seek n find puzzles. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, sewing by hand, traveling across the United States and loved walking at the Shawnee mall where she made numerous friends. She loved her family, and the Life Christian Church family. Thelma always put others first and never spoke an ill word about anyone.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Allen Baxter; great-grandson, Adam Baxter; siblings, Newton and Elton Simer and Estelle Dennis. Survivors include her children, Frank Baxter, Anita Dodd (Allen Keith); grandchildren, Christopher Allen Baxter, Dianne Dodd, Brian Dodd (Kim); great-grandchildren, Ashley and Morgan Dodd, Elisabeth and Talon Baxter; her precious little dog, Lexi; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK.
