Theodore “Kevin” Booker passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 12th at the age of 52. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on May 8th, 1972. He was preceded in his homecoming by his father, Theodore Garland Booker. Left to mourn is Gwen Booker, his mother, and Keia Booker, his sister, along with a host of family and friends.
Kevin was one of the kindest persons you’ll ever meet. He was just as passionate about anything OU, as he was his friends. From a young age, Kevin could turn on the charm or be serious and tell it like it was. Like when he was about one years old and would fall asleep as his grandmother Addie would sing him a lullaby only to cry when his mother attempted to do the same. He was funny and lighthearted, and would have given you the shirt off his back.
Growing up as a military child, he was used to moving around a lot and lived in Las Vegas, Nevada; Monterey, California; Verona, Italy; and Baumholder, Germany before deciding to make his home, Oklahoma. He had a love for disc golf, playing and watching football, Thunder basketball, skiing the black slopes of the Alps, and golf. His golf skills even make it into the Oklahoman at the ripe age of 5. Kevin had a deep love of the University of Oklahoma and wouldn’t allow his family to even consider burnt orange as a color choice. He attended OU, pursuing a degree in psychology and then graduated from Francis Tuttle Culinary Institute where he became a chef. He was passionate about food and delighted in cooking up a meal for his friends and family. Kevin was a devout Christian and prayed everyday. He is now home with his Lord.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115, followed by a reception from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
