Thomas retired from the U.S. Air Force and from the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed going to the casino and always had a stash of lottery tickets. He was an avid OU and Thunder fan.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Hanson, granddaughter Ashley Fournier, and longtime companion Jean Knowlton.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Caroline Hanson, his son Elton Newsom, and his father and mother-in-law Leo and Linnie Wacker; and twin sister, Alice Crouse.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
