Thomas Dale Poplin was born March 2, 1945 in Fresno, California. Dale’s family moved to Oklahoma while he was still an infant where he was raised in small towns such as Bing, Frances, and Allen. He started working odd jobs at the age of 10 to help his beloved mother. One of his first jobs was at Allen Gas Station. He continued to be a hard worker for the rest of his life. He served in the National Guard for four years. Dale married his beautiful wife, Nancy, on April 3, 1964. Over the next six years, they were blessed with two sons, Dennis and Tommy and one daughter, Shannin. He was a wonderful father and shared a special bond with each of his children. Dale was an excellent provider and he was liked by everyone he met. In fact, he never met a stranger. He would help anyone in need. After his children were grown, he was blessed with 6 grandkids and 5 great grandchildren. They brought him the greatest joy and he loved them all dearly. Dale will be greatly missed by all who love him. He was truly one of a kind.
Dale is survived by his wife; Nancy of 54 years, son; Dennis and wife Sarah, son; Tommy, daughter; Shannin; grandchildren, Brittany, Stephanie, Christa, Cody, Cindy, and Jason; great grandchildren, Keira, Kaylee, McKenzie, Brayden, Paisley, and Addison. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara, and brother, Billy.
Dale is preceded in passing by his mother, Vallie, sister, Willa Dean, brothers, Bobby, Winford, and Freeman.
Visitation will be held 1:00pm- 8:00pm Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 12:00pm Thursday, November 8, 2018 in the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
