

DOB: Born at home on June 11, 1937 in Sardis, OK to parents Lee M. “Son” Daugherty (preceded in death, 1961) and Emma Lee (Smith) Daugherty (preceded in death, 2012).
Childhood/Early Adulthood:
Loved to ride horses on Uncle Palmer’s (and Aunt Marie) farm
Proud graduate of Crooked Oak High School - Class of 1955. Played basketball and was active in the drama department
Avid roller-skater, could be found at Joyland Skating Rink in Midwest City (even took her little brother Kenny with her on occasion)
Loved ballroom dancing, and proficient in “the Dallas push” (daughter Vicki said, you had to be there)
Siblings:
Betty (Daugherty) Henry (preceded in death, 2017), also a graduate of Crooked Oak High School (Class of 1952). According to Lou, she was always referred to by the teachers as “Queenie’s Sister” (Betty was homecoming queen in 1952).
Richard Daugherty (preceded in death in 2015), also a proud graduate of Crooked Oak High School (Class of 1959). Lou enjoyed watching him play football & basketball.
Kenny Daugherty, Lou’s “baby brother,” also graduated from Crooked Oak High School (Class of 1964), where he played football and basketball….on occasion, Lou might have tossed a glass or two of cold water on Kenny (early in the morning), instructing him to get out of bed and go to school.
Hobbies:
In Vicki’s elementary/junior high years, Lou was their softball coach. (I’m sure Lou would want to note, Vicki ran more laps than anyone because she just couldn’t hush…)
Organizing things/projects, especially utilizing colored pens and sticky-notes. Most known for her use of scotch tape when wrapping packages or sending greeting cards.
Crossword puzzles (in pen)
Loved to cook – family favorites included, “Grandma’s” dressing, peanut butter cookies, banana nut cake, cabbage rolls and lasagna
Playing the slot machines in Tunica & Las Vegas
Reading romance novels – favorite authors include Danielle Steele, Barbara Taylor Bradford, and others
Listing to Vince Gill, George Strait, and various other artists
Work:
Greatest work accomplishment – named as Vice-President at Min-Tex Oil Company in Tulsa, OK (1970’s)
Worked as a realtor for Gordona Duca in Tulsa, OK in the 1970’s
Proudly retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a “Requirements Control Officer” doing the job of a GS-11 or 12

Birth of daughter, Vicki Lynne
Vicki’s attendance and graduation in 1981 from Oklahoma State University
Growing up in a loving family and getting to spend time with her siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews, along with two girls that called her Mimi-Lulu.
Religious Milestones:
Attended and was baptized at Victory Baptist Church (Midwest City, OK) in the 1950’s. Continued to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, all throughout her life.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM. A burial will occur Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home & Cemetery.
