Wayne R. Akin, 95 year old resident of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away July 31, 2018. Born January 7th he was the son of David and Katherine Akin. Wayne was one of eleven children in the family. He enjoyed sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and attended all sporting events of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Wayne was an avid dominoes player and was the National Champion of Dominoes one year. He loved being with his family, especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Mary Akin, and nine siblings. Survivors include 1 daughter, Cathy and her husband James Trent of Del City, Oklahoma; 1 granddaughter, Cayci and her husband Ron Rhoads of Del City, OK; 1 grandson, Joel Trent of Del City, OK; 3 great-grandchildren, Cathlyn; Mallory; and Daxten Rhoads; 1 sister, Marjorie Hewitt of Lebannon, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, Oklahoma 73115 with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma.
