William "Bill" Burr Blankenship, 81, passed away February 19th, 2014. He was born in Dustin, Oklahoma. Bill served his country during the Vietnam War, joined the recruiting staff, and finished his 20th year of service in 1974. His ending rank was Master Sargent. He then worked at Western Industries Corporation as a Plant Manager until he retired. Bill is survived by his wife, Clara Belle Blankenship of Oklahoma City, OK. Sunday, February 23 would have been their 60th anniversary. He is also survived by three of his children, Sharon Jones of Chickasha, OK, Karen DePue of Oklahoma City, OK, and William Alton Blankenship of Del City, OK. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Kobosky of Edmond, OK. Bill has five grandsons, Gary, John, David, Brian, and Chris; two great-grandson David Lloyd and Nathan; and four great-granddaughters Kiry, Pamela, Emma Sue, and Emily. Bill had 14 brothers and sisters, only Frank, Sally, and Neva Blankenship have survived. There are many extended family members. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City, Oklahoma with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
