William was a hardworking man. He drove a truck for a living and also worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, camping and most of all his time watching his children and grandchildren grow up and their sporting events. His proudest moments could be described as the days he married his loving wife Betty Jo, the birth of his children and the adoption of Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one daughter; Patricia Ann Poplin, two brothers; Winford Poplin, and Bobby Poplin and one sister and brother-in-law; Wilmadean Nickel and husband BJ.
To carry on his legacy are his daughter; Sherry Poplin-Shipman and husband Ronnie, son; Jimmy Poplin and wife Shelly, brothers; Dale Poplin and wife Nancy, Billy Poplin and wife Carolyn, sister; Barbara Bailey, and two sisters-in-law; Wanda Poplin and Hazel Poplin; and many other nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
