McCartney and Thelma Ellen(Coldsmith)McCartney. She passed from this life to be with
her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 25, 2020, at the age of 90 years.
Nonie, as most knew her, was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She attended
Capitol Hill High School. She married the love of her life, James Henry May, on June
21, 1946. They were happily married for 70 wonderful years before his passing in 2016.
In her younger years, she loved to spend time sewing and crocheting. She made many
clothes, ponchos, and blankets for her loved ones. Most people will remember all the
fancy shirts she made for Jim or all of their matching dance outfits. When they retired,
western dancing was one of their favorite hobbies. Her favorite dance was the waltz.
Nonie loved spending time with her family and friends. Birthdays and holiday dinners
were always a big deal. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters.
She loved to take them swimming and to feed the ducks. Many times they would just
spend time outdoors watching the birds.
Wynona is preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant daughter, Kay
Ellen May; sister, Marie Emogene May, and many other relatives. She is survived by
her son, Jimmy Wayne May and wife, Sharon, of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Kathy
Jean Blalock and husband, Larry Dee, of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughters, Audra
Dawn May of San Antonio, TX and Jessica Kay Blalock of Oklahoma City, OK;

The family would like to thank Tracey Pennington and staff at Dorset Memory

Nonie over the last few months. They were all very wonderful to her. A special thanks to
her niece, Marjorie Bender, and her children; Jerry, Tracey, and Crystal for filling the
gap during the family’s quarantine and making sure Nonie was surrounded and
comforted by loved ones during her last days.
Due to Covid, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be scheduled at a later time.
