OBITUARY

Andrew D. Broussard

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Andrew D. Broussard, age 100, at 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Military Honors conducted by Iberia Parish Veteran’s Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church from 8:30 am until time of service on Saturday with a Rosary at 10:00 am.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Broussard passed away at 10:55 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at East Ridge Nursing Home.

Mr. Broussard was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. He served in the 2nd Armored Divison, 67th Regiment, and better known as “Hell on Wheels”. He was a tank commander that served and trained in Africa, Normandy and Northern France. He was wounded at the Battle of St. Lo in France and was a Purple Heart recipient and numerous meritorious medals. Mr. Broussard was a longtime rice farmer and Vermilion Parish Sheriff Deputy, member of the Lions Club, American Legion and VFW. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden and cooking. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and leaves a wonderful legacy behind for his family.

He is survived by his son, Edward L. Broussard and wife Mary Beth of Lafayette; two daughters, Christine Dore and husband Terry and Andrea Falgout and husband Randall all of Delcambre; grandchildren, Stephanie Fremin, Tiffani Broussard, Claire Danos, Alicia Broussard, Emily Williams, Chace Falgout and Neely Falgout; great grandchildren, Emma and Aiden Broussard, Ava Fremin, Olivia and Anne Marie Danos, Caroline and Abigail Williams, Mateo and Liam Falgout and Layne and Ollie McCallan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena LeBlanc Broussard, Infant Daughter, Marie Broussard; Parents, Remy and Claudia Duhon Broussard; two brothers, George Broussard and Isaac Broussard; eight sisters, Nella Lalande, Gladys Frederick, Ada Guidry, Sadie Webb, Mae Dora Boudreaux, Velma Lormand, Gertie Broussard and Annie Broussard and great grandson, Boden Mateo Falgout.

Pallbearers will be Jake Danos, Ben Williams, Robert Broussard, Casey Broussard, Robby Fremin and Mike LeBlanc.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Carolyn Wilridge, Racheal Wilridge and Carrie Malbreaux and also the staff of Cornerstone South, Eastridge Assisted Living and Eastridge Nursing Home for all of thelove and care given to Mr. Broussard.
