Donald Joseph Miguez

DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Donald “Don” Joseph Miguez, age 75, at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with military honors by Vermilion Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 10:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Miguez passed away at 11:20 pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Miguez was a veteran of the US Army who proudly served his country. He was employed as a nuisance trapper with the State of Louisiana for 13 years. Mr. Miguez was an avid horseman and a member of the Ameican Quarterhorse Association. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years Jeanette Vincent Miguez of Delcambre; one daughter, Donna M. Viator of New Iberia; two sons, Rafe Miguez and his wife Brandi of Delcambre and Jarret Miguez of Youngsville; five grandchildren, Amber Viator, Tori Miguez, Reed Miguez, Devin Miguez and Logan Miguez and two sisters, Gertie Broussard of Delcambre and Mary Nell Comeaux of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gordy and Lela Derouen Miguez.

Pallbearers will be Rafe Miguez, Johnny Broussard, Steve Broussard, Tommy Vincent, Gussie Broussard and Devin Miguez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jarret Miguez.
