Donna Guilbeaux Smythia, 62, a lifelong resident of Delcambre, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. Born on December 13, 1962, Donna was a cherished member of her family and, known for her warmth, humor, and love of life’s simple pleasures.
Donna found joy in life’s everyday moments like playing cards, sipping coffee, enjoying games on her phone, and spending quiet hours reading. Her love for animals was boundless, and she deeply adored her dogs, Abby and Benny, and her cat, Jean Luc. A highlight of her days was time spent with her “coffee club,” a special tradition she shared with her sister, Judy, filled with laughter, conversation, and companionship around the kitchen table.
She is survived by her sister, Judy G. Rivers (Andy); her nieces and nephews, Amy Rivers Simon (Rickey), Angela G. Blanchard, Michael Guilbeaux, and Emery Boettcher; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Kassie and Zachary Blanchard. Donna also leaves behind those dear to her heart, Valerie Jackson, Morgan Spencer, Myles Brown, and Mackenzie Jackson, who will forever cherish her memory.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Smythia; her parents, Lester and Amy Trahan Guilbeaux; and her brother, Carroll Guilbeaux.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to her pets, and her appreciation for life’s simple joys. Donna’s laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services.
