DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Nedie Joseph LaPointe, the former Isabelle Sonnier, age 78, at 11:00 am Friday, March 19, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant for the service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home in Delcambre. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm by the St. Anne Altar Society. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday.

Mrs. LaPointe was a native and resident of Delcambre. She passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Abbeville Medical Center.

Mrs. LaPointe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Billy LaPointe and wife Keesha Hebert LaPointe; two grandchildren, Chaz Michael LaPointe and Ambri Kate LaPointe all of Erath and one brother, Ray Sonnier of New Iberia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nedie Joseph LaPointe; her parents, Luc’ and Laurence Delahoussaye Sonnier; two sisters, Verna S. Istre and Rosabelle S. Dumond and three brothers, Jed, Curtis and Alton Sonnier.

Members of the family will serve as pallbearers.
