

COTEAU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Joseph “Black” Bourque, age 77, at 10:30 am Monday, January 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at the church mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 7:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Coteau, Mr. Bourque passed away at 5:05 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jean Romero Bourque of Coteau; one daughter, Jodi B. Citrano and husband Corey of Coteau; one son, Wendel Bourque and wife Connie of New Iberia; nine grandchildren, Blake Delcambre; Derrick Delcambre; Courtney Delcambre; Trent Bourque; Bryson Bourque; Brody Bourque; Kelsey Bourque; Lexi Citrano and Addyson Citrano; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Eunice B. Derouen and husband Glenn of Coteau and Jean B. Sanders of Orlando, FL and one brother, Jeffery Bourque of Eunice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Rena Touchet Bourque; one sister, Inez B. Boudoin and two brothers, Dudley Bourque and Felix Bourque.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Bourque, Ricky Bourque, Troy Lavergne, Ronnie Romero, Wayne Romero and Bubba Frederick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Delcambre, Bryson Bourque, Brody Bourque, Kelsey Bourque, Lexi Citrano, Addison Citrano, Larry Toups, Jr. and Ty Frederick.
