DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Kenneth L. Delcambre, age 69, at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Ralph Landry will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 10:45 am.
Kenneth was born May 18, 1942 in Abbeville to Loleste and Louella Mayard Delcambre, and passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his camp in Ringgold, Louisiana.
Kenneth was a hardworking but family oriented man. He began his working life at a young age working with his father at the family business, Loleste Delcambre Boats, Inc., a job he was very proud of. Through the years, he worked with various oilfield related businesses, but recently retired from Natco (now Cameron) with 15 years of service.
Kenneth loved the outdoors and was working on his family camp in Ringgold, LA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. His family was most important to him and he truly cherished the time spent with them. He leaves behind many fond memories and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nell Dore Delcambre of Delcambre; his children, Kent Delcambre and Yvette Bouillion, Rosalind Delcambre Baudoin and husband Todd all of Delcambre, and Randall Delcambre and wife Laurie of Broussard; three grandchildren, Chelsea and Trevor Baudoin, and Molly Delcambre; a brother, Randy Delcambre and wife Patricia of Abbeville; sister, Earline Delcambre LeBlanc of Lafayette; and sister-in-law, Jenny Delcambre of Delcambre.
He was preceded in death by parents, Loleste and Louella Delcambre; a brother, Rudy L. Delcambre; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Olivier Mayard and Mr. and Mrs. Rodolph Delcambre.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Baudoin, Brad Crochet, Ricky Nailes, Brian LeBlanc, John Floyd, and George Dore.
