Shirley Ann Gary Broussard, age 74, passed away peacefully at her residence in Lafayette, LA, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1950, in Lafayette, LA, to the late Willis and Anna Mae Racca Gary.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Shirley Ann’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her loved ones. Whether sharing laughter over a warm cup of coffee or offering a kind word, her presence was a source of comfort and love to all who knew her.
Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Ann Broussard and Raymond Smith, Kevin John Broussard, Christina Ann Broussard and Rodney Doucet, Linda Ann Broussard, Laurie Ann Broussard and James Paul Broussard and Raven; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one sister, Laura Ann Theriot.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Steven John Broussard; two sisters, Mary Ann Moreaux and Judy Ann Richard and three brothers, Joseph Percy Gary, Freddy Gary and Willis Joseph Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at Evangeline Funeral Home in Delcambre with Deacon Patrick Burke officiating. Shirley Ann will be laid to rest following the service at Migues Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 8:00 am until time of service.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bryce Simon, Kaleb Simon, James Broussard, Ricky Richard, Jason Doucet and Rodney Doucet. Kevin Broussard, Matthew Langlinais and Charles Broussard will be honorary pallbearers.
