When the Jr. High football team was in need of a coach at Delcambre High School, Bert stepped up and filled in as the coach. He kept the stats for the DHS varsity football team for numerous years. He also served as a basketball official for 40 years and was honored to be selected to officiate the Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament. Bert could be found running, walking, or biking throughout the neighborhood to stay fit.
