DELCAMBRE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Wilson John Touchet at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant. Mr. Touchet will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum privately at a later date.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday from 8:00 am until services.
Wilson was born November 4, 1951 in New Iberia to the late Lawrence Touchet and Lillie Mae Dore’ Touchet, and passed away peacefully Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Touchet was a lifelong oilfield worker and retired from Baywater as a Driller. He previously worked with Nabors Drilling and with WL Estis. When not working, Wilson enjoyed taking care of his yard and tending to his flowers. His greatest joy was the times spent visiting with family and friends. His devotion to his family was first and foremost, and he leaves a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Charlene Viator Touchet; his only daughter, Heather Touchet Dore’ and husband Dirk; his three grandchildren whom he adored, Taylor Renee’ Dore’, Kale Chandler Dore’ and Caden John Dore’; his brothers and sisters, Wilton Touchet (his twin brother), Willie Touchet and wife Lorraine, Eunice Benoit and husband Stanley, Brenda Henry and husband Walter, Scotty Touchet, Charlene Kern and husband Merlin, Julia Maturin and husband Gerald, Patricia Dutil and Mike Gary and wife Lisa; his in-laws, Judy LeLeux and husband Tommy, Melissa McDonald and husband Jude, Randy Viator, Ronnie Viator, David Viator and wife Debbie; three Godchildren, Mark Touchet, Trey Touchet and Jason Louviere; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Lillie Mae Touchet; three brothers, Douglas Touchet, Joseph Touchet and Keith Touchet; an infant sister; and his in-laws, Claude and Hilda Viator.
Serving as pallbearers are Kale Dore’, Mark Touchet, Trey Touchet, Randy Viator, Jason Louviere and Stephen Glatter. Honorary pallbearers will be Caden Dore’, Ronnie Viator and David Viator.
