He was Skippy to those that knew him growing up in New York City as an avid sports enthusiast and Kennebec summer camper. After graduating Lafayette College and marrying the love of his life, Joan Adelstein, the two of them headed to Philadelphia to begin their new family and life. Clem’s career started by selling fabrics and he grew to be one of the most well-liked and respected executives in the men’s formal wear industry, creating lines for Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Cardin. After working with After Six, he and Joan founded Crystal Formal Wear in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Eight years later they were merged into industry leader Lord West where Clem became President of their accessory division Tuxacco. Clem loved his work and the people with whom he worked. After retirement to Gleneagles, in Delray Beach, FL in 2001, Clem could be found on the golf course or a cruise ship as he and Joan travelled much of the world. Clem was also passionate about the Philly sports teams, especially the Eagles and the Broad Street Bullies in the mid-70s. He was a caring, generous, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Joan, his daughter Cathy (Haim Borer) and their two sons Jason & Kai Borer, his son Clement III, (Ligia), his sister Peggy Michelman of Armonk, NY and her family and his sister-in-law Terry Mehegan. The family has designated The Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) for memorial contributions
