Ellen Himmelstein, 80, of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on July 29, 2013 after a two year long battle with cancer. She was born Ellen Werlinsky on September 10, 1932, to Daniel and Goldye Welinsky.
She married her husband Harold on January 6, 1957 and together they raised two sons in Hewlett, New York before retiring to Boynton Beach, Florida. In between raising a family, she worked for the US Navy and the US Marines in administrative procurement. She never met a stranger and once she met you never forgot a name or a detail.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Harold Himmelstein, two sons Robert (Abby) Himmelstein of Woodmere, New York and Michael (Karen) Himmelstein of Roswell, Georgia; her five grandchildren Tracy (Marc) Hennes of New York City, Gayle Himmelstein of Albany, NY, Laura Himmelstein of Tel Aviv, Israel, Matthew Himmelstein of Woodmere, New York and Ashley Himmelstein of Woodmere, New York; and her sister Marcia Abrams of Philadelphia, Pa.
Graveside funeral services were held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at New Montefiore Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
