Harriet P. Dubitsky
November 21, 1934 – October 30, 2026
Harriet P. Dubitsky, lovingly known as Harriet and affectionately called Auntie by her nieces, was born on November 21, 1934, in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. As a young adult, Harriet traveled to many places before eventually making her way to Florida, where she settled and spent the remainder of her life.
Harriet was the daughter of Samuel and Daisy Dubitsky and the eldest to her two younger siblings, Ira Dubitsky and Sylvia Dubitsky, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved parents.
Harriet was an exceptionally bright, whip-smart woman whose intelligence and sharp mind stayed with her throughout her life. She had a keen intellect, a quick mind, and a love of words and knowledge. Her interests included playing Scrabble, reading, and listening to opera, all of which brought her great enjoyment.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Harriet worked as a laboratory technician before going on to own and operate her own medical transcription company. Her professional accomplishments reflected her intelligence, independence, and determination.
Harriet is survived by her two beloved nieces, Rivka Dubitsky and Leah Malka Pasch. Leah is married to Josh Pasch, and together they have four children: Yosef, Aryeh, Noam, and Asher Pasch.
She also leaves behind her cherished best friend, Eli Overbeck, and Eli's two children, Billy Overbeck and Heather Overbeck, who held a very special place in Harriet's heart and were like her own children. She was also loved by Heather's husband, Tony, and their children, Stella and Sebastian.
During the final month of her life, Harriet faced numerous illnesses and challenges, yet she continued to hold on to hope. Despite affectionately describing herself as a "devout coward," Harriet demonstrated extraordinary courage and bravery in the face of adversity. Her determination and spirit remained evident even through the most difficult days.
Harriet passed away on October 30, 2026. During her final week, she was surrounded by those she loved and by those who loved her dearly. It was a fitting reflection of the meaningful relationships and deep connections she shared throughout her life.
Harriet will be remembered for her remarkable intelligence, independence, love of learning, courage, and the special place she held in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and love her. Her memory will live on through the family and friends whose lives she touched.
