She graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School for Girls in 1956. She went on to study Business at Boston University.
Marilyn met the love of her life, Jason Shapiro, while growing up in Dorchester. They were married on September 17, 1959 at The Aperian Plaza in Boston and had been happily married for over 60 years.
She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and would brag about them to anyone who would listen. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was very active in her village in Platina where she and her husband retired after living their whole lives in Massachusetts, first in Brockton then in Foxboro.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Jason, her daughter Nancy and her husband Robert Wright of Foxboro, her son Michael and his wife Leslie of North Attleboro, her five grandchildren, Emma, Rebecca, Marina, Nick and Audrey, and her brother Gerald Shoib and his wife Jeannie of Lake Worth, Florida, her nieces Lorrie and her husband Gino Sardiello of Morrisville, NC, Cindy and Greg Matus of Cooper City, Florida, and her great nieces Gabby, Jules, and Morgan and great nephews Max, Logan, Mason and Luke, several cousins and many friends.
The family has entrusted Stanetsky Memorial Chapels in Canton, MA with the arrangements. Services will be private.
