It is with great sadness that the Wharton family announces that Maurice aka Mike died peacefully among close family on August 14, 2023 in Delray Beach, Florida. Born in Belgium, Maurice lived a life of challenge and enchantment. He is survived by his brother John Pierre, wife Barbara, son Andrew John, daughter-in-law Colleen, daughter Lisa Michelle Murphy, son-in-law James Lynn Murphy, grandsons Matthew Holt Wharton, Charles Stanley Murphy, Joseph Holt Murphy, granddaughters Madolyn Olivia Murphy, and Lulu Jane Murphy, nieces Laurie Richter and Carrie Guglielmo.
If you knew Maurice well, then you knew how much he loved his family, fine dining, traveling all over the world, and being the host of a gathering. He lived the true American Dream and was so very proud to be an American. Maurice had a huge heart for all people and really had a special way of relating to everyone.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
