Paula Greenberg Owens

Paula Greenberg Owens, 98, formerly of Boca Raton, Florida and more recently of Westchester, NY, passed away on August 5, 2023, after a short battle with illness and a long battle with Alzheimer’s . She was predeceased by her husband O.J., her former husband Ellis Greenberg, her beloved son, Richard Greenberg and her cherished sister, Ruth Plaks. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Hendrickx , son-in-law, John, granddaughter, Kaitlin, nephews Robert Einhorn (Jessica)and Alan Einhorn (Suzanne), grand niece Alexandra Smith (Richard) and grand nephew David Einhorn. She is also survived by dear friends Nancy, Suzanne, Corrine and Christina who considered her a second mother and whom I gladly shared her with. She built an extended family of friends that spanned the country.

Paula was born on January 7, 1925 to Sophia and Herman Weintraub. She grew up in Cedarhurst, NY, one of Long Island’s five towns, the youngest of the two sisters. She was incredibly smart (and sassy!), skipping 2 grades to graduate high school at 16. She worked her entire life, always rising to the top (limited in the early years by the social mores of the day, regarding women). She was always esteemed by her colleagues and retained lifelong friendships that accumulated through the many vicissitudes of her life.S he was a strong advocate, mentor and often generous to a fault.

Paula was a respected interior designer, running her own company, Paula Greenberg & Associates in South Florida (previously called Total Design when she lived in N.Y.), whose unerring talent was prized by real estate developers nationwide as her beautifully designed models inevitably boosted their new home sales exponentially. Most private clients became her lifelong admirers and friends.

As a businesswomen, her skills were many. Her most outstanding asset was her sense of commitment and integrity. Most of all, she was passionate, talented and inspired.
