

Rupert was a man of big ideas, dreams, and aspirations. He was a track & field athlete throughout high school and into college. His prowess on the track afforded him a scholarship. He migrated to the United States from Jamaica in 1969 to New York, where he attended Essex Community College making him the first in his family to attend college. He later attended Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Rupert had a long and fruitful career as an Electrical Engineer at Public Service Electric and Gas Company in New Jersey. Retiring after 32 years of service in 2004. Rupert was curious and his inquisitiveness and keen intellect drove all his pursuits. His passion for real estate had him flipping properties before it became a TV show. Whatever he did, he was all in.
Rupert was predeceased by Ivan McCleary(father), Bernice McCleary (mother), Ena Barnes(sister), Archibald Foreman(brother). He is survived by wife Doris McCleary, Children: Camille Schoultz, Marsha & Robert McCleary. Son-in-law Ryan Schoultz, Daughter-in-law Ratha McCleary. Grandchildren: McKenzee McCleary, Riley McCleary, Maleah McCleary-Clarke, and Ryder McCleary. Nephews: Michael, Gordon, Anthony, Gary Barnes and Phillip Foreman. Nieces: Lorna Scott, Denise Barnes, Audrey Lomax, Diana Reid, Carey Swift, and Nadine Barnes. And a host of other grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
A visitation for Rupert will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Riverside-Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 7205 West Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33446.
