
Walter “Walt” Myers, 79, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully, after a brave battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, on March 19, 2017. He was born on December 12, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Walt was a dedicated husband to Yvette, his devoted wife of 54 years. He was also a loving father to his daughter, Leah Myers, of Delray Beach, Florida, and his son, Stuart Myers and his wife, Kellee, of Maricopa, Arizona, and an adoring grandfather to their sons, Mason and Ethan. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Myers and his wife, Rose. Walt will also be missed by his large extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as the many friends whose life he touched.
Walt proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, for 22 years, including a year in Viet Nam, before retiring in 1985. Walt and his wife enjoyed their time in the Military. They especially enjoyed being stationed in Spain, where they took every opportunity to explore the country. Walt had a passion for SCUBA diving, nature and photography. He is remembered for his easy smile, quick wit, and loving heart.
Services for will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the MDS Foundation, www.mds-foundation.org/donate/, or to VITAS Hospice, https://vitascommunityconnection.org/community-connection/donation-form.
