Alma Lois Wylie Hughes

Visitation for Alma will be held from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, TX 75020.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, TX 75020 with Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, TX.

Alma was born on January 29, 1926 in Atoka, OK the daughter of Benjamin and Nova (Brown) Wylie. She married Albert Donald Hughes on June 14, 1942 in Durant, OK. Alma worked for Texas Instruments as an engineering technician. In her retirement years she enjoyed driving her Winnebago and traveling. A large part of her life was her church, Hyde Park Baptist Church, which she was a member for many years. Alma loved to crochet, was a wonderful cook who is well known for her big holiday meals and her desserts. She loved spending time with grandchildren and her dogs.

Alma is lovingly remembered by her son, Wylie and wife Debra Hughes of Denison; daughter, Frances Pangle of Garland; grandchildren, Reggie Bassett, Nova Pangle, John Pangle and Dosky Allard, Tammy Mitchell and fiancé Kenny Broughton and Holly and husband Brian High; great grandchildren, O.T. Mitchell, John D. Pangle, Joshua Pangle, Brittany Pangle, Logan High and Lawson High.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; daughter, Donna Bassett; 2 sisters, Joyce Buckner and Blonnie Crews; great grandson, Jamie Mitchell; son-in-law, Kenneth Bassett.
