Betty R. Dockray

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M., Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Park Avenue Church of Christ, 3000 S. Park in Denison with Pastor Todd Catteau officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Gardner, Todd Caddel, Kyle Penn, Daniel Laffitte, Stan Simmons and Randy Boultinghouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Easter, Thomas Redwine and Clem Martin.

Betty was born to Jim & Bertha Bennett on Saturday, October 8, 1938 in Katie, Oklahoma. She has one sister, Jimmie Ellen Gardner. She married James Rudolph “Rudy” Dockray on August 9, 1957 and they had two daughters, Kathleen and Diana.

She grew up in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and graduated high school there; was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ for many years and was a program director for KXII-TV and KTEN-TV for 34 years. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Kyle, Stephanie, Allison, Kahlee, Jenna and her great-grandson Knox.

Betty is survived by Rudy, her husband of 56 years; daughter Kathleen “Kathy” Caddel, husband Todd and their children, Allison Caddel, Stephanie Laffitte & husband Daniel, Kyle Penn & wife Whitney (parents to great-grandson Knox Penn); daughter Diana “D.D.” Boultinghouse, husband Randy and their children Kahlee & Jenna Henderson and sister Jimmie Ellen Gardner.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers-in-law Robert Gardner, Clyde Dockray and Gene Dockray.
