Chuck was born August 2, 1935, in Providence, Rhode Island to Charles Jesse and Emily Jesse (Tabele) Amaral. He served his country in three branches of the Armed Forces, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
In 1957, he married Beverly Ann Stevens and had three wonderful children, Charles Jr., Donna Marie and Kimberly Ann. On April 6, 1967 he married Janet Elaine Howe-Levitre who had a wonderful child from a previous marriage Ronald Wayne Levitre. In 1968 they were blessed with another wonderful child when Michael Anthony was born, thus completing Chuck and Janet's "yours, mine, and ours" Family.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and two grandsons, Anthony Ray Crabtree and Tyler Jensen Amaral.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet Amaral of Denison; three sons, Charles Vincent Amaral Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Savannah, Texas, Ronald Wayne Levitre and wife, Nikki of Aurora, Colo., Michael Anthony Amaral and wife, Emily of Centennial, Colo.; two daughters, Donna Marie Amaral of Roseburg, Ore. and Kimberly Ann Crabtree and husband, Richard of Tillamook, Ore.; 16 grandchildren, Richard, Ashley, Christine, Savannah, Shannon, Andy, Jennifer, all of Oregon; Heather, Chelsea and David of Texas; Ashley of Utah, and Kyle, Ava, Patrick, Michael and Sarah of Colorado; and 15 great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. Also left behind are his three faithful companions, his dogs Maxwell, Prissy and Bo Sox.
He went back to school at age 32 while supporting five children and his mother and achieved his Associate Degree in Business Administration cum laude at Chabot Jr. College in Hayward, Calif.; his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif.; and completed one year of Law School at Berkeley.
During his professional career he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co., Amaral & Sons and Bayfair Lanes (all in San Leandro, Calif.); Mack Trucks Hayward, Calif.; Basic Four Computers, Torrance, Calif.; Amex Systems (Corporate Director of Management Information Systems) and Rockwell International (Senior Project Engineer), both of El Segundo, Calif.; and Boeing Corporation in Long Beach, Downey and Seal Beach, Calif. (Senior Project Engineer and Senior Staff Engineer); Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth, Texas (Senior Staff Systems Engineer).
He served as Past. Sec. Treasurer for the South County Softball Assn. in Hayward, Calif. and was inducted to their "Hall of Fame"; Member and Past Officer of the Mini Owners of America Los Angeles (MOALA) where he was the proud owner of a prize winning 1967 Mini Cooper "S"; Member of the Society of Logistics Engineers; Member of the American Society of Naval Engineers, as well as many others.
Chuck's special interests in addition to his family were anything "Boston Red Sox" oriented, Softball, Open Wheel Racing (from dirt track to Indy) and collecting Whaling memorabilia.
Chuck will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
