

Cheryl Tucker: mother, daughter, sister, and friend died in her Denison Texas home with her family by her side on Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was born on Friday, August 2, 1963 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sam Ed James and Mary Lou Bobbitt James.
Cheryl was a consummate writer who held great value in a well-written story, article, prose, or letter. She was the editor of her college newspaper, wrote for the Grapevine Sun, Allen American, Celina Record, and most recently contributed to a collection of written stories for Austin College: Telling our Stories. Cheryl was an active member of her Church, Waples Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the WUMC Day School board. Above all, Cheryl will be remembered most for her quick wit, infectious laugh, and her pride of family.
Her daughter, Emily Ann Tucker, and father, Dr. Sam E. James, preceded Cheryl in death.
Survivors include son, James Tucker and his father, Mark Tucker of Denison, mother, Mary Lou James of Denison, brother, John James and his wife, Michelle of Melissa, Texas, brother, Jason James and wife, Lisa of Krickenbach, Germany, nephews, Nick and Austin James, niece, Corie James, and many other friends and family.
Services for Cheryl will be held on Saturday, May 31 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison, TX. Internment will be May 31 at Lonesome Dove Cemetery in Southlake, TX with Pastor Dr. Roy Spore officiating services with Jamie Wood, Yefri Chavez, Garrett Hestand, Yavel Hernandez, Sergio Orona, and Justin Guth serving as pallbearers.
Memorial Donations may be made to Waples Memorial United Methodist Church Day School.
